In order to develop the large-format store segment to improve customer experience and growth, Evija Grīnberga, who was previously General Director of the Sky supermarket chain in Latvia, has joined the Maxima Latvija management team as Director of the Maxima XXX chain.

“Large-format stores spearhead growth in retail, offering customers the very latest shopping opportunities, providing a higher quality and special variety of products. By opening the most modern, sophisticated Maxima XXX store at the Akropole shopping and entertainment centre, as well as introducing ever-new innovations in other XX and XXX stores both in Riga and elsewhere in Latvia, Maxima Latvija has already proved itself to be the leader in developing this segment in Latvia. We are pleased that Evija Grīnberga has joined the Maxima Latvija team, as her knowledge and many years’ experience in supermarket management will strengthen the leadership of the Maxima XXX chain, promoting further ambitious development,” explains Maxima Latvija Board Member Kristīne Āboltiņa.

Grīnberga will be responsible for the strategic development of the XXX store chain, including the modernisation of stores according to the latest retail trends and for customer convenience, management of day-to-day chain operations, and collaboration with shopping centre management.

“Maxima’s larger stores are particularly convenient for customers, allowing them to gain new shopping experiences, providing excellent customer service, and offering a particularly varied assortment of products. I am pleased to join Maxima Latvija’s powerful team, and I believe that together we can implement ambitious growth plans for large-format stores,” adds Maxima XXX Director Evija Grīnberga.

Evija Grīnberga has extensive, long-term experience in retail, with managerial roles in Skai Baltija, Pallink and other Latvian retail chains. Grīnberga gained her degree in International Economic Relations and English Philology from the University of Latvia.
