Retail chain Maxima Latvija has been recognized as the nation’s top employer for the fourth consecutive year at the Dienas Bizness “TOP 500” Businesses in Latvia award ceremony.

In 2019, Maxima Latvija has been investing in excess of 34 million Euro in expanding the store network and improving the work environment and customer shopping experience by opening several large-format stores, a range of smaller stores, and fully renovating 10 existing stores.
Maxima Latvija employs 7,500 professionals in almost 200 stores throughout Latvia, and takes particular care of its people and their children in various ways. Employees are offered remote working opportunities and flexible working hours to ensure they can successfully combine work with family life. The company also offers discounts, gifts on special occasions, encourages families to take part in various events promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, and organises special days and a scholarship programme for the children of employees.
The “Top 500” award, which took place this year for the 23rd time, is a joint project of the newspaper Dienas Bizness and Lursoft.
This year, retail chain Maxima Latvija became the first business in Latvia to be awarded the International Certification Association ICERTIAS’ highest level global award in the Customers’ Friend category, in addition to being recognised as the No 1 retail brand in Latvia and the Baltics. In addition, Maxima Latvija received a Gold Award in Sustainability Index, and was recognised as Family- Friendly Business.
