VILNIUS - French President Emmanuel Macron's envoy for strategic dialogue with Russia is expected to come to Lithuania for consultations this month.
Pierre Vimont is to visit Vilnius on February 27, diplomatic sources have told BNS.
In late 2019, Macron tasked the experienced French diplomat with working on re-establishing a strategic dialogue between Europe and Russia.
The French president proposes that Europe should re-engage in a strategic dialogue in Russia, while remaining demanding and not giving ground on its principles.
Lithuania disagrees with the position and calls for isolating Russia until it changes its aggressive behavior in neighboring countries and in the Middle East.
