Luminor has granted a loan of 200 thousand euros to SIA Domiņš for renovating a pre-school and purchasing the necessary equipment. The company owns several CreaKids kindergartens in Riga, which operate according to a curriculum developed in Norway and adapted to the Latvian education system for comprehensive development of children.
The new kindergarten with 11 groups will be located in Ķīpsala. The pre-school plans to launch the new kindergarten later this year.
"SIA Domiņš is a long-standing and trusted client of Luminor Bank, so we are pleased that the company is developing and expanding its activities in response to the continuing high demand for places in pre-schools. As there is still a shortage of places in municipal kindergartens in the capital, opening pre-schools is a promising business area and we are happy to support it," says Ilze Zoltnere, Head of Corporate Banking at Luminor in Latvia.
The owners of the company are a family from Norway who have been working in the pre-school education sector for more than 25 years. The CreaKids curriculum is in line with the School 2030 guidelines. There are currently 7 CreaKids brand kindergartens in Riga and Pierīga. Two pre-schools are located in premises owned by SIA Domiņš, while the remaining premises are rented by the company. The kindergartens employ around 180 staff.
"In our educational institutions, children not only learn knowledge and skills in a fun and playful way, but also gain an understanding of their emotions and how to manage them. The kindergartens are practically full, and demand for places in pre-schools is still high, with long queues. For this reason, with the support of Luminor Bank, we have decided to open a new kindergarten in Ķīpsala, as it is in the centre of Riga that we see the highest demand," says Daina Kājiņa, Regional Manager of the CreaKids preschool.
The company will invest in a simplified renovation of the building and improvement of the new premises, such as a playground, kitchen equipment, group equipment and administrative space.
