RIGA - The low coverage of vaccination against Covid-19 in Latvia and the countries of the region in general is a "post-Soviet heritage", such an opinion was expressed by the Minister of Culture Nauris Puntulis (National Alliance) to Latvian Television this morning.

Based on this assumption, the Minister thinks that the lack of communication with Russian-speakers about vaccination against Covid-19 is not the main reason why many Russian-speaking seniors end up in hospitals.

Puntulis remains of the opinion that, for example, sending a letter in Russian about vaccination against Covid-19 would have little effect, therefore he does not support such an action.

At the same time, the politician of the National Alliance admitted that he would have no objection to disseminating more practical information which is "not in the state language", for example, where exactly the vaccination points are available at certain times.
