LITPOLUKRBRIG to hold first joint military training exercises in February 2016

The joint Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian military brigade, LITPOLUKRBRIG, will hold its first training operation in February 2016. 

On Monday November 2, 2015, the Lithuanian Defence Ministry confirmed the
date was set at a meeting of the chiefs of the three battalions and the staff in Lublin, Poland. 

Triple Brave, the first joint training of the unit, will include national units, which aim to improve the operational planning and decision-making processes. 

In the exercise, Lithuania will be represented by the staff of the Great Duchess Birute Battalion.

The staff of the brigade is currently being put together. Lithuanian troops have already been assigned to work in the brigade's headquarters in Lublin, Poland.

The brigade is headed by a Polish officer who has a Lithuanian deputy. The brigade staff is headed by a Ukrainian officer. 

They will hold the positions for three-year terms.

Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine have each assigned an infantry battalion to the brigade.
