Lithuanian president calls on EU to agree on tax for polluting importers

VILNIUS – Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has called on the European Union to agree on a border tax for important products if their producers fail to adhere to EU environmental and nuclear safety requirements. The president believes it is necessary to do so to ensure fair competition in the EU market.
