Lithuanian PM asks AgriMin to probe whether chief vet can stay in office

Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius has asked Agriculture Minister Virginija Baltraitiene to investigate whether Jonas Milius, the country's chief veterinary officer, can remain at his job, the government's press office reported on Friday. "Agriculture Minister Baltraitiene, whose ministry controls the State Food and Veterinary Service (VMVT), has been instructed to immediately submit conclusions regarding the VMVT performance and a concrete proposal as to whether Milius, the head of the service, is suitable to continue to perform his duties,"...
