VILNIUS - Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen will travel to Riga where she will attend the Song Festival and meet with the parliament speakers of Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Germany and Ukraine and Latvia's new president.
The Lithuanian Seimas leader will pay a two-day visit to Riga at the invitation of the Speaker of the Latvian Saeima Edvards Smiltens, the Seimas press service said on Friday.
On Sunday, Cmilyte-Nielsen is scheduled to meet with Latvia's new President Edgars Rinkevics and attend the closing concert of Latvia's biggest cultural event, the Song Festival.
On Monday, she will attend different-format meetings with her counterparts from Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Germany and Ukraine.
According to Cmilyte-Nielsen, "this will be an opportunity to express support for Ukraine's aspirations for NATO membership with the Speakers of the parliaments of other countries, perhaps for the last time before the NATO summit in Vilnius".
