Lithuanian parliament allows restricting irregular migrants' movement for another 6 months

The Lithuanian parliament, Seimas, has allowed the authorities to restrict the movement of irregular migrants in Lithuania for up to a year. The respective amendments to the Law on the Legal Status of Foreigners passed in a vote of 81 to 14 with 15 abstentions.  The new legislation allows applying the restrictions for migrants under an extreme situation, a special legal regime.
