Lithuanian MPs see Gapsys’ Seimas resignation as correct, but belated step

Lithuanian parliamentarians from the ruling parties as well as the opposition believe that the decision by Vytautas Gapsys, first vice-chairman of the Labour Party, to step down as a member of the Seimas as the correct choice, although belated. Kestutis Bartkevicius, leader of the Order and Justice political group at the Seimas, reported BNS yesterday that Gapsys' motives for leaving parliament were unclear to him. "He said he was innocent. He was so confident and now he is leaving the Seimas.  This is something of a puzzle," he said....
