VILNIUS – Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and Seimas Speaker Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen on Saturday extended congratulations to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom on her official birthday.
The Lithuanian president on this occasion wished unity and every success to the Royal Family and all the people of the country.
“I am especially pleased with excellent bilateral relations between Lithuania and the United Kingdom that are deeply enriched by close people-to-people contacts. I greatly appreciate successful cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Nordic-Baltic countries,” Nauseda wrote in his message of congratulations.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Seimas, on behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, extended wishes for health and happiness to Her Majesty and the Royal Family, as well as for success, prosperity and peace to all the people of the United Kingdom and Britons around the world.
“Your country’s leadership in providing and coordinating assistance to Ukraine is a shining proof of how important the values of democracy and free self-determination are to your country. The shared goals of Lithuania and the United Kingdom result in a unique relationship rooted in trust and pursued both through bilateral dialogue and NATO cooperation”, she said in the congratulatory letter.
