VILNIUS - The Lithuanian Cabinet decided to fire Jonas Milius, the head of the State Food and Veterinary Service, the prime minister's spokesman Mindaugas Janulionis told the press at the government today.
According to the government resolution, Milius will leave his position on Oct. 5.
"I wanted an honourable explanation of the reasons," Milius told the media following the government meeting.
He said he was not yet prepared to go to court for compensation over what he considers his unlawful removal from office.
