Lithuanian Gas Supply to buy gas from Norway’s Statoil

VILNIUS - Lithuania’s state-owned natural gas supply company Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas (Lithuanian Gas Supply, or LDT), which has, until now, purchased gas only from Russia’s gas giant Gazprom, will from now on also buy it from Norway’s Statoil. LDT had entered into an agreement for the supply of gas with Statoil whereby it would meet over a half of LDT’s gas demand this year (around 300 million cubic metres), LDT said in a press release.
