Lithuanian court: Soviet Union’s ex-president Gorbachev must be witness

A Vilnius court decided on Oct. 17 to question Mikhail Gorbachev, the 85-year-old last president of the Soviet Union, as a witness in the trial of the Jan. 1991 attempted coup case. The information was confirmed by Robertas Povilaitis, who is listed as a victim in the case because his father Apolinaras Povilaitis died in the bloody events of Jan. 13, 1991 in Vilnius.
