VILNIUS – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis had a phone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba on Sunday to discuss steps to pursue tougher EU sanctions for Russia.
"We coordinated steps to impose additional severe EU sanctions on Russia to stop its barbaric aggression against Ukraine and war crimes against Ukrainians. Grateful to Lithuania for standing by Ukraine and stepping up support," Kuleba tweeted on Sunday.
Russia invaded Ukraine in late February and started a war. The EU responded with sanctions for Russia and started providing various assistance, including military one, to Ukraine.
