VILNIUS - Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda met with his Swiss counterpart Alain Berset in Davos on Wednesday and discussed support for Ukraine as it's fighting against Russia, as well as and bilateral relations.

"Despite the geopolitical turmoil in Europe, Lithuania remains an attractive country for investors. We have a stable investment environment and talented employees. We invite Swiss investors to develop their business in Lithuania as we have great potential in the innovative and high added value sectors, including engineering, car industry, communications, lasers, robotics, financial technologies and, especially life, sciences," the Lithuanian president said.

Nauseda also thanked Switzerland for its active participation in pooling financial and humanitarian aid to Ukraine and for the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Lugano last year.

The Lithuanian leader stressed the importance of implementation of further economic sanctions for Russia and thanked Switzerland for joining the EU sanctions for Russia and Belarus and for freezing oligarchs' assets worth more than 7 billion euros.

Among other things, Nauseda invited Swiss representatives to attend the Life Science Baltics 2023 and the Baltic Miltech Summit 2023 events.
