Lithuania to issue coin to mark 20th anniversary NATO, EU membership

VILNIUS - The Bank of Lithuania will issue a silver 20-euro collector coin on March 28 to mark the 20th anniversary of Lithuania's NATO and EU membership.

"Twenty years ago, Lithuania's accession to NATO and the European Union was a historic and decisive step in the country's quest for security and integration into the European community. Having met all the necessary conditions and criteria for membership of the Alliance, Lithuania officially became a NATO member on March 29, 2004," the statement said.

The 28.3 gram silver coin has a mintage of 2,000 pieces. One coin will cost 87 euros, including VAT.
