Lithuania's Tripartite Council fails to reach agreement

Lithuania's Tripartite Council, uniting the government, employers and trade unions, on Tuesday, September 18, failed to reach agreement on raising the minimum monthly wage and will submit different proposals to the government which will have the final say. The government has proposed to the Council to raise the minimum wage from 400 to 430 euros. Earlier, it suggested increasing it to 420 euros. Trade unions had proposed raising the minimum pay to 430 euros from January and to 450 euros from next July, but the Council rejected the proposals. Therefore, trade unions will propose raising ...
