VILNIUS – Lithuania's Special Investigation Service is suspecting a member of an examination commission and five foreigners of corruption linked to the Lithuanian language and Constitution exams.
Corruption suspicions have been brought against the member of the state language and Constitution exam commission, and suspicions of bribery have been brought against citizens of Lebanon, Egypt, Iran, Iraq and Nigeria, the SIS said on Friday.
According to the country's law enforcement, the commission member accepted bribes to create conditions for foreigners to illegally take exams needed to get residence permits and live and work in Lithuania or other EU member states.
The commission member is suspected to have accepted bribes of up to 300 euros from foreigners for them to pass the exams.
