Lithuania's preparedness for extreme situations is inadequate, the State Audit Office announced after examining the preparedness of state institutions which manage civil protection and response in emergencies.
The press release stated that the nation does not have a sufficient number of shelters, cautioning that sirens are not intact and civil protection drills are not organised, while "institutions have a prevailing formal attitude towards readiness for extreme situations."
