VILNIUS – Lithuania’s Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga will propose extending the lockdown once again.
“I will definitely propose extending the lockdown,” he said at a news conference on Monday.
The extension was necessary in order to be able to apply quarantine and self-isolation requirements as well as certain procedures in healthcare establishments, the minister explained.
He refused to specify the potential duration of the new lockdown extension.
The government would discuss the extension of the lockdown on Wednesday.
The national lockdown was introduced in Lithuania on March 16 and was last extended until May 31.
