Lithuania’s formin attending conference on Russia’s accountability for war crimes

VILNIUS – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis is on Thursday attending a high-level international ministerial conference in The Hague on Russia’s accountability for international law violations and war crimes committed in Ukraine.

The event presents the efforts by the international community aimed at investigating alleged international crimes committed in Ukraine by Russia and its accomplice - Belarus, as well as a plan for collective action to ensure that gross violations of human rights and international humanitarian law do not go unpunished, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

The conference is co-hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and the European Commission.

The conference is attended by high-ranking officials from 60 countries and representatives of major international organizations, including the International Criminal Court, the United Nations, the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), and others.
