Lithuania receives 14 refugees from Syria under EU program

Fourteen refugees from Syria have arrived in Lithuania under the European Union’s (EU) program, the Migration Department announced. “On April 12 of 2017, four families (14 individuals) of the Syrian Arab Republic were relocated to Lithuania from Greece,” reads the press release. As of today, Lithuania has received 276 people from Italy, Greece and Turkey under the EU program. Lithuania, two years ago, committed itself to receiving 1,105 refugees from countries, such as Syria, Iraq and Eritrea, over two years.
