VILNIUS – Justice Minister Evelina Dobrovolska has called on the European Commission to protect Lithuanian judges prosecuted by Russia for sentencing more than 50 Russian citizens in the mass trial related to the Soviet crackdown on civilians in Vilnius in January 1991.
Dobrovolska discussed the issue with European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders on Friday, the Justice Ministry said.
