VILNIUS - The Lithuanian Finance Ministry on Wednesday appointed Darius Degutis, a diplomat, as ambassador-at-large for issues involving the Astravyets Nuclear Power Plant under construction in Belarus, just 50 kilometers from Vilnius.
The post has been set up in an effort to better coordinate the positions and actions of different Lithuanian authorities at both the national and international levels with regard to the project that is being developed in the neighboring country, the ministry said.
