Lithuania ahead of Latvia for LGBT rights

According to a survey by LGBTI rights organisation ILGA-Europe, Lithuania ranks 36th among 49 rated countries in terms of LGBTI rights. The survey shows Lithuania is doing somewhat better in ensuring LGBTI rights than the majority of post-Soviet countries. However, discrimination is still higher than Western Europe. The survey examined the legal status of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and intersexual persons, i.e., analysing laws defining equality and non-discrimination, marriage and partnership rights, hate speech, legal recognition of sex change...
