Lithuania, Cyprus sign memorandum on healthcare cooperation

VILNIUS – The Lithuanian and Cypriot health ministers on Wednesday signed a memorandum on cooperation in healthcare, Lithuania's Health Ministry said.

Signed by Cypriot Health Minister Michalis Hadjipantela and Lithuanian Health Minister Arunas Dulkys during the Cypriot minister's visit to Vilnius, the memorandum includes plans to look for solutions in the areas of health system management, digital health, primary and public health care, raising qualifications of medical specialists, the readiness of the health system for emergency situations, and other areas of mutually agreed cooperation.

The bilateral agreement also provides for training and raising qualifications of health, pharmaceutical and public health personnel, including teachers, researchers, health managers.

According to the ministry, opportunities will also be provided to learn about advanced treatment methods when hosting Cypriot trainees in Lithuania or when Lithuanian staff would go to Cyprus.
