VILNIUS - Negative publicity concerning overpriced kitchen utensils has significantly diminished public confidence in Lithuania's Armed Forces and Defense Minister Juozas Olekas, indicates a survey published in the Lietuvos Rytas daily on Saturday.
Public support of the army stood at 48.1 per cent in early September, a 9 per cent drop from 57 percentage points in July. At the same time, the number of individuals suspicious of the Armed Forces rose from 13.8 per cent to 18.8 per cent during this period.
