Lithuania’s LJL declares bankruptcy - the third time in 6 months

VILNIUS - Lietuvos Juru Laivininkyste (Lithuanian Shipping Company, or LJL) has filed for bankruptcy for the third time in the past four months. Sigitas Dobilinskas, CEO of the financially-troubled shipping company, on Friday asked the Klaipeda Regional Court to open bankruptcy proceedings, LJL said in a stock exchange release. “The court has received and registered the petition,” Kestutis Butvydas, the court’s spokesman, confirmed to BNS.
