Lithuania's opposition Liberal Movement proposes to allow civil partnerships for both unmarried opposite-sex couples and same-sex couples. Viktorija Cmilytė-Nielsen, another initiator of the amendment to the Civil Code, said that they propose to recognise in law cohabitation, a common form of relationship in Lithuania.
