RIGA - Adoption of the laws on residential tenancy, the public media and next year's budget will be among the most important tasks for the parliament in the fall session, said parliament speaker Inara Murniece (National Alliance) in an interview with commercial TV3 television today.
She said that the goal of the law on residential tenancy aims to normalize the rental market, while the law on public media will set up regulations for operations of the Latvian public media. "This law required time and effort and engagement of the media," said Murniece.
She said that the parliament will son hear both bills in the third or final reading, and more than 100 proposals have been submitted to each of the bills.
The third most important job is adoption of next year's budget, and heated debates are expected on the subject.
As reported, the parliament started its fall session last Thursday.
