Latvijas Gaze to cut gas tariff for households next year

RIGA - Natural gas tariffs for households in Latvia will decrease as of January 1, 2019, according to an announcement published by Latvijas Gaze natural gas utility in the official newspaper Latvijas Vestnesis.

For households using up to 250 cubic meters of gas a year, the differentiated end tariff (VAT included) will reduce by 6.8 percent, from EUR 0.55436 to EUR 0.51671 per cubic meter. For households consuming between 250 and 500 cubic meters of gas per year, the end tariff will drop 7 percent, from EUR 0.51643 to EUR 0.4805 per cubic meter. 

For households consuming 500 to 25,000 cubic meters of gas per year, the end tariff will be cut by 10.2 percent, from EUR 0.35399 to EUR 0.31806 per cubic meter. 

The invariable part of the monthly gas bills will stay unchanged during the first half of 2020, at EUR 2.14 (VAT included) for the permitted capacity of six cubic meters per hour, EUR 8.02 for 10.1 to 16 cubic meters per hour, EUR 12.83 for 16.1 to 25 cubic meters per hour and EUR 19.57 for 25.1 to 40 cubic meters per hour.

Tariffs for natural gas consumers who consume up to 25,000 cubic meters a year, are revised twice a year – on January 1 and July 1.
