Latvian lawmakers are due to vote on Thursday on a public initiative against the current practice of switching to  daylight  saving time (DST) or summer time in spring and then turning clocks back again in fall. If the initiative is backed in the vote, the parliament committee in charge of the proposal will order the Cabinet of Ministers to analyze the proposal’s economic implications by September, BNS was told at the parliament.
