Latvians: Healthy food is too expensive

As much as 66 per cent of Latvia’s population thinks that healthy food is too expensive to eat regularly, according to a survey about healthy eating habits carried out by Rimi Latvia retail chain together with SKDS pollster. The poll showed that most people in Latvia study the nutrition facts labels of different food products and choose to buy those that do not contain genetically modified organisms or GMOs (87 per cent) and preservatives, E-number food additives, and flavour enhancers (83 per cent).
