RIGA - Despite the suspension of training of Iraqi security forces by NATO, all six Latvian soldiers will continue their mission in Iraq, Anete Gneze, head of the Press Department of the Ministry of Defense, informed LETA.

She explained that Latvian soldiers were not part of the NATO-led training mission, whose activities have been suspended, but instead are part of the US-led security mission within the Danish contingent, and that this mission is still ongoing.

For now, the Ministry of Defense has no information that the US-led security mission in Iraq is scheduled to be interrupted, Gneze said.
