Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis has been hospitalised in Riga’s Gailezers hospital.
The news was broken by the hospital’s spokeswoman, Inguna Potetinova, who refused to give any further details on the president’s health.
The president’s press secretary, Gusts Kikusts, told BNS that Vejonis had been put in the hospital to assist his recovery from a viral infection.
Vejonis will continue performing his official responsibilities as an in-patient at the hospital.
