April 28, 2016, saw the Latvian Parliament (the Saeima) support the second reading of the bill drafted by the Ministry for Environment and Regional Development regarding the creation of the Latgale Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The SEZ would be situatied in eastern Latvia which could comprise 17 regions and Daugavpils - Latvia’s second largest city.
The Latgale SEZ is to be established to facilitate development of the Latgale province by attracting investments for the development of production and infrastructure and the creation of new jobs.&...
