RIGA - Due to the increase in the price of energy resources, three mobile telecommunications providers in Latvia will raise their prices, Latvian Television reported last night.

The increased prices of the telecommunications providers Bite and Latvijas Mobilais Telefons (LMT) will come into effect today, while Tele2 will raise them on December 1.

All operators will increase service prices for all tariff plans. Bite will raise the prices of all tariffs by EUR 1.75, Tele2 will adjust the increase to the type of tariff, the price increase will be from one to two euros, but LMT indicated that the average price increase for private individuals will be two euros.

The companies denied that there had been a mutual agreement.

The Competition Council (KP) stated that the price increase was most likely not mutually agreed upon, but it is clear that the companies are watching the decisions of their competitors.
