Latvian govt to take over hospitals' debt obligations worth 170 million euros

RIGA - In an effort to help fix financial problems in hospitals that have taken out state-underwritten laws, the government today passed the Health Ministry's proposal to take over hospitals' debt obligations worth 170 million euros. Health Minister Anda Caksa told the media following the government's meeting that this would free up 7 million euros for healthcare this year.
