RIGA - Latvian Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis has promised support to the population of the Mucenieki village in central Latvia after the government, on Tuesday, March 22, declared the would-be detention centre for illegal immigrants an object of national interest — a move which precludes any further local attempts to stop the construction of the facility.
