RIGA - Since February 24, the military support to Ukraine provided by the Latvian government has reached EUR 300 million, while Latvian residents, companies and NGOs have donated more than EUR 15.7 million to Ukraine, the Defense Ministry reported.
The military support provided by Latvia includes weapons, individual equipment, dry food products, ammunition, anti-tank weapons, anti-missiles Stinger, drones, howitzers, helicopters, fuel and other goods.
Also, the Defense Ministry helps to deliver humanitarian aide to Ukraine.
Foreign Ministry's parliamentary secretary Baiba Blodniece (For Development/For) and senior expert Elmars Plavins during their visit to Ukraine handed over another shipment of humanitarian aid donated by Latvian companies and residents - warm tactical clothing, footwear, equipment for soldiers, food products, off-road vehicles and military equipment donated by the National Armed Forces.
"This war will be long, the support of Latvia and other countries is one of the preconditions for Ukraine's survival and independence. Latvia is a leader in providing support, showing example to other countries in Europe and the world," said Defense Minister Artis Pabriks (For Development/For).
