Latvian government, foreign investors to discuss current challenges in Latvia's economy

RIGA - On September 11, the 24th meeting of the Foreign Investors Council in Latvia (FICIL) and the Latvian government High Council will be held, LETA learned from FICIL.

During a remote discussion, the participants plans to talk about strengthening of the rule of law, stability of tax policy, improvement of the health care system, broader use of digital solutions. Also, the parties plan to agree on the current priorities in cooperation between the state and investors.

Separat work groups will discuss efficiency of the justice system and the necessary changes in the tax policy.

The high-level meetings of the government of Latvia and FICIL have been taking place since 1999 with the objective to provide structured information and exchange of views between investors and local policy makers to improve the business environment and encourage foreign investment inflows in Latvia. The annual meetings of the government of Latvia and FICIL are attended by ministers, senior officials and heads of FICIL member organizations.
