Latvian financial watchdog turns to police in relation to Ventspils Nafta shares

RIGA — The Latvian Finance and Capital Markets Commission (FKTK) has turned to the police in relation to possible use of inside information and market manipulation with shares in Latvia’s Ventspils Nafta holding, FKTK spokeswoman Elina Avotina told BNS. She said the FKTK had examined certain transactions made on the Nasdaq Riga stock exchange from Sept. 9 to Sept. 11 when the price of Ventspils Nafta rose steeply.
