RIGA - Latvian film director Olafs Okonovs died on December 7 in Australia, aged 47, Inga Zalite, a representative of the filmmaker's family, informed LETA.
LETA reported that Australian police were seeking public help to find Okonovs who went missing at the beginning of December last year
The Canberra Times reported at the time that Okonovs was last seen in Kambah, a suburb of Canberra, on December 7.
Okonovs was believed to be travelling in a black Holden Captiva.
Police and Okonovs' family were concerned for his welfare and requested the public's help to find him.
