Latvian farmers' losses estimated at EUR 400 million

Latvian farmers' losses due to unusually hot and dry weather this past summer are estimated at around EUR 400 million, Farmers' Saeima board chairman Juris Lazdins said. According to the Agriculture Ministry's estimates made in July, Latvia's grain, dairy farms and forest owners have suffered losses of EUR 359 million due to hot and dry weather.
