Latvian court grants asylum to Afghan family of six

An administrative district court in Latvia has granted asylum to an Afghan family of six, overruling an earlier decision by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, according to the ruling released by the court. The family filed its asylum application to the State Border Guard in the spring of 2016. The parents also sought asylum for their four underage children. The mother of the family said in the application, that she was asking for asylum in Latvia because her family was not safe in Afghanistan, and that the Taliban terrorist group had tried to recrui...
