Jaroslavs Strelcenoks, chief of the Latvian Corruption Prevention Bureau (KNAB), fired his long-standing deputy Juta Strike today.
It was Strelcenoks’ fourth attempt to do so over the past two years; previous efforts failed as Strike was always reinstated, last time by a court ruling.
Today the KNAB chief signed a decree about disciplinary punishment of Strike, who will be removed from office for her alleged absence from work at the end of last year and the beginning of this year.
