Latvian citizen jailed in Estonia for causing bodily injuries to child

Estonian court on September 20 imposed a jail term on a Latvian citizen for causing bodily injuries to a child of his acquaintance. The Harju County Court imposed a five-year jail term of 42-year old Dainis, but as the defendant cooperated during investigation, the jail term has been reduced to three years and four months. The court has also decided to extradite him from Estonia and ban him from entering Estonia for five years. The mother of the child, 30-year old Jekaterina, was slapped four months of suspended jail term for not reporting on the injuries caused to the child. ...
