The Latvian Competition Council will look into the merger of DNB and Nordea banks in the Baltic States, the competition watchdog said. The Council has to make a decision to approve or ban the takeover, or whether to approve it on certain binding conditions in a month after receiving the takeover statement.
The Estonian Competition Authority has not yet received a merger announcement from the banks, spokesperson for the competition watchdog Maarja Uulits reported.
